Call for Participation: CoDOA Working Group Communication – Deadline: 30 September 2025

As part of the CoDOA project which seeks to establish a sustainable funding scheme for Diamond Open Access journals, we are establishing a dedicated communications working group to develop outreach strategies aimed at raising awareness and fostering Diamond OA publishing among diverse research communities in Switzerland.

Diamond OA journals – free to both authors and readers – are a cornerstone of a diverse, equitable and sustainable scholarly communciation system. However, their potential can only be fully realised if researchers recognise them as viable and respected publication venues and engage with them as authors, reviewers, and readers.

The working group will

• identify barriers to awareness and trust in Diamond OA within different research fields and
• develop tailored outreach and engagement strategies for diverse scholarly communities.

Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of researchers, with particular attention to disciplinary, institutional, geographical and gender diversity.

Your commitment will entail participating in two to three virtual meetings between November 2025 and March 2026; contributing to drafting recommendations and optional involvement in outreach activities within your community.
